What We Do Advocacy means supporting somebody to speak up and be listened to, ensuring their views and wishes are heard and taken seriously. Advocacy can enable people to become more involved in important decisions about their health and social care. Our Advocates help people in the community who have difficulty with communicating their thoughts, needs and wishes. They may also face difficulties with making decisions about things such as how or where they are cared for. Advocacy can support people to understand their rights, their options, and enable the person to make an informed decision. We help people to live the lives they want to live. We provide high quality and totally free advocacy support that is completely independent of Health and Social care services. We’ve put together a short video to help you understand a bit more about what we do and how we help. Next, why don't you read about the people behind Advocacy Focus?
