Advocacy Focus is looking to recruit a Volunteer Manager based in Accrington.

Volunteers are a key part of the our team. Last year, our volunteers gave over 2,000 hours of free advocacy support, which is akin to a full time Independent Advocate. We value our volunteers, like we value our staff.

Are you their new Manager?

  • You will need to have the ability to manage and provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to volunteers and staff. We currently have over 30 volunteers in our charity who are integral to the work we carry out and the support we offer to the local community.
  • Are you able to be caring, sensitive and patient while supporting people to be as independent as possible? Many of our volunteers use their own personal experiences to support others, particularly surrounding mental health and often come to us with their own challenges.
  • You have experience of the third sector, in particular health and social care. Working knowledge of the Mental Health, Mental Capacity and Care Acts is essential.

Why lead our Volunteer Team?

We have been successful so far, but with you on board, we will achieve bigger and greater things,

As winners of the Selnet Excellence in Training and Mentoring Award 2018, we are committed to the effective support and development of all our volunteers. We were finalists for Volunteer Team of the Year, and were given the accolade of Highly Commended, at the 2018 North West Charity Awards. Just last year, our Volunteer Manager also received a Highly Commended award for Volunteer Manager of the Year.
