Reporting to the Operations Director you will focus primarily on developing robust revenue streams gained from external training in areas such as Advocacy and Mental Health First Aid. You will also be responsible for improving the skills of our front line colleagues and department managers with a structured approach that supports achieving our mission and values. In fact, one of our values is that we never stop learning, hence a commitment to this newly created position.

With responsibility for the full training plan for employees you will plan, organise, deliver and review the success of our training initiatives to include the foundations of advocacy, bitesize specialist advocacy training, compliance, customer service, and management and specialist skills across a base of around 60 members of staff across our service areas. In conjunction with managers you will identify and nurture talent and implement schemes to develop future stars.
You will also have responsibility to plan and deliver training to Local Authorities, NHS, CCG’s and voluntary sector organisations as and when required.

This role is based at Accrington but will involve travel throughout our service areas. The role is full time primarily Monday to Friday during office hours but may require occasional evenings and weekends for training delivery to our team members/ external stakeholders.

Key tasks

  • Devise and deliver training to develop the skills of our front line colleagues and managers
  • Support the development of robust revenue streams gained from external training in areas such as (but not restricted to) Advocacy and Mental Health First Aid
  • Take responsibility for client and partner training management, ensuring efficient and high-quality
  • customer service and contract management
  • Identifying, pitching for and winning business with a diverse client group
  • Design and deliver training courses and workshops, utilising a variety of methods, (train the trainer,
  • face to face and virtual courses)
