The Rotary Club actively pursue the objectives of Rotary Worldwide, a global foundation that aims to foster and sustain positive change in local communities. They are actively engaged in fundraising initiatives such as Walk4Your Charity, Santa Sleigh, Fashion Show, Easter Egg Raffle etc. and regularly raise money for charities of their choice.

The cheque was presented by Jim Hargreaves of the Club to John Hutchison and Tasneem Patel of Advocacy Focus at the Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel in Blackburn on the 7th August 2017.

John Hutchison, Operations Director for Advocacy Focus, says: “We are very grateful to the Church and Oswaldtwistle Rotary Club for their kind donation. This money will be used to further extend our ‘Pop Up’ Advocacy public awareness events across Lancashire.

“The aims of these events are to raise awareness of our award-winning advocacy services and to educate the public on what advocacy is and how they might need it. ‘Pop Up’ Advocacy is crucial in extending our reach and ensuring we are fulfilling our mission of ‘advocacy for all’”

John continues: “Our trained advocates attend these successful events to meet with the public, provide on the spot advocacy and help with self-referral if necessary. This money will ensure that we can continue to cover the set up costs and literature for any future events.”

John finishes: “We wish to extend our thanks once again to the Rotary Club in thinking of our charity and ensuring we continue to support those who need it most.”
