Advocacy Focus Gains Quality Performance Mark We are delighted to announce that we have once again been awarded the Advocacy Quality Performance Mark (QPM) from the National Development Team for Inclusion (NDTi). This prestigious accreditation is the UK’s only independent quality mark for advocacy providers like ourselves. As part of the strict accreditation process, we have had to undergo a rigorous assessment processes which includes policy reviews, site visits and external interviews with Advocates, Volunteers, Commissioners, people we have supported and more to ensure that we are delivering on our core value of quality advocacy. Leanne Hignett, Service Delivery Director at Advocacy Focus, says: “We are extremely proud to have once again retained this accreditation for the next three years. Our team work hard to ensure we are always providing the best support possible and delivering on our promise of quality. We would like to thank NDTi for their support during the accreditation process and for the glowing feedback provided in their assessment report. “Every day we work on behalf of people in our community who struggle to communicate their needs and wishes; to know that we are not only making a difference in their lives, but we are doing so to the highest of standards, is a tremendous feeling.” Gail Petty, QPM Manager and Lead for Advocacy and Rights at NDTi said: “The Advocacy Quality Performance Mark is only awarded to advocacy organisations who can demonstrate that they are providing excellent services to people often experiencing challenging situations in their lives. It indicates that they have the training and policies in place to ensure people’s rights are upheld and their preferences are heard and responded to.” Originally developed by Action for Advocacy (A4A), the Department of Health funded NDTi to review and revise the QPM in 2014, working with providers, users and commissioners of advocacy services. Leanne finished: This accreditation is testament to every single member of our team who go above and beyond to support others and keep the cogs turning day in day out to provide an exceptional service in Lancashire, Trafford, Bradford and Rochdale. It’s a huge celebration and one I hope every member of the team feels proud to be a part of. Find this interesting? Why don’t you read about the people we support and our success stories.
