This role is available in Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley. Of course we welcome applications from surrounding areas if you are able to travel.

You don't need to be an expert, empathy matters more than academic qualifications or experience, and we're keen to hear from people of all ages and walks of life.

Key tasks

  • Provide 1-1 tailored support with the person, establishing a relationship of trust and support and work towards and agreed support plan
  • To befriend and support people who may be experiencing loneliness and social isolation
  • Encourage the person to take up activities that fit the persons hobbies and interests and become active participants in their community
  • Remain independent from professionals and to promote the person’s progression in terms of social, emotional, educational, religious and cultural needs
  • To promote and assist people with the completion of Advocacy Friends E-Learning package
