We are continuing our Pop Up Advocacy tour of Lancashire – our next stop will be at Clitheroe Market this Thursday 24th August between 11am and 2pm.

We have already ran successful pop up events in Accrington and Burnley, and now we encourage people to come and speak to us in Clitheroe for free advice.

What is Advocacy?

Advocacy means giving people a voice to speak up and be heard about their health or social care.

A lot of people appear confused when you say the word advocacy to them and one of the main goals of our pop up events is to help explain what advocacy is and if it can help them. A lot of people who need advocacy support are unaware it exists, for free.

Our events will help to inform people of their rights, provide referrals for our service if needed, provide self-help packs for health complaints and sign post to drops-ins or alternative health and social care services if needed.

Our specially trained advocates will be at the event this Thursday so we encourage anyone to come down and speak to us about any health or social care issues they may be facing.

Who are we?

We are an award-wining charity which has been delivering independent advocacy across Lancashire since 1998.

Our specialist service supports a wide range of individuals with varying health and social care needs, from people with mental health needs, learning disabilities and dementia to individuals that lack capacity or have ‘substantial difficulty’ being involved in decision making.

Our advocacy support is completely independent from local authorities and the NHS, which means that our services are not biased and we work for the individual.
